National Day of Prayer – Thursday, May 2
The National Day of Prayer tradition predates the founding of the United States of America, evidenced by the Continental Congress’ proclamation in 1775 setting aside a day of prayer. In 1952, Congress established an annual day of prayer and, in 1988, that law was amended, designating the National Day of Prayer as the first Thursday in May.
The 62nd Annual National Day of Prayer will take place this Thursday, May 2, 2013. Millions will unite in prayer at thousands of events from coast to coast. This year’s theme, “Pray for America” is based on Matthew 12:21 which reminds us that “In His name the nations will put their hope.”
All are invited to an informal gathering for prayer and praise at Fellowship Church on May 2 at 7:00 p.m.
