I was glad when they said to me, “Let us go to the house of the Lord!” (Psalm 122:1). In that same spirit of gladness, let us joyfully worship our Lord. Welcome to all!
Today is Sanctity of Human Life Sunday – Scripture and the constant witness of the Church teach that human life is created in the image and likeness of God. The value of life, therefore, does not depend on law or personal preference. Rather, it depends on the purpose of God at creation, and His continuing love for human creatures. So great is this love, that He sent His Son to become human, to live as an embryo and become born, to live among us and suffer, to die and resurrect for our hope and glory. Sanctity of Human Life Sunday is today, the Sunday closest to the anniversary of Roe v. Wade. President Ronald Reagan first set the day aside3 in 1984 to give thanks for the gift of life, and to affirm our commitment to the dignity of every human being and the sanctity of each human life.
Scripture for today is John 14:1-7
